87.5 · THE STUDIO
The night shift is a small shop.
Radio Dad is made by Tanzi Labs LLC, one independent studio with no growth team and no ad department. Just a radio we wanted to exist: the whole world on a globe you spin to tune, with nothing tied to you while you listen.
The shop
Radio Dad is built by Tanzi Labs LLC, an independent app studio. One shop, no growth team, no ad department. We answer our own mail and we like software that is quiet, careful, and respectful of the people who use it. There was never a meeting about engagement. There was a radio we wanted, and now there is a radio.
A NOTE FROM THE MAKER
I built this because I wanted it to exist and could not find it. Every choice in the app follows from that: no ads, because I would not want them; no account, because it has nothing to ask you for; a globe instead of a search box, because the point is to end up somewhere you were not looking for.
It is a small operation. When you write to [email protected], the reply comes from the person who wrote the code. If something is broken or a station is wrong, tell me and it gets fixed.
Radio Dad
The host

The man in the headphones is Dad. He runs the night shift, keeps the transmitter warm, and narrates the whole site in first person. He is a drawing. The radio he plays you is not: every station on his globe is a real transmitter, live, at its real coordinates. We built him because the world's radio deserved a host, not a dashboard.
Why it exists
Radio is the original way to hear a place. Tune across a dial in another country and you catch its language, its music, its adverts and its weather, the texture of somewhere you have never been. The internet put fifty thousand of those stations in reach, then buried them in a search box.
So we put the planet back in charge. Spin a 3D globe and whatever station sits under the crosshair starts playing, no tapping. Zap from one to the next like flicking a dial. When a broadcast is in a language you do not speak, Live Captions transcribe and translate it on your device, in real time and private to you. Discovery should feel like travel, not like reading a list.
Where the stations come from
Radio Dad's directory is built from open, community-contributed listings, served from our own edge with our corrections on top. We do not own the audio and we do not re-stream it: every station plays directly from the broadcaster to your device, exactly as it would in any player. Because the listings are contributed, they change, and stations sometimes move or go offline. If you run a station and want it removed, our takedown process handles valid requests promptly, typically within 48 hours.
Private by design
Radio Dad needs as little about you as possible. There is no account to make. There are no ads, no advertising SDKs, and nothing tied to you. Two outside services are involved, each with one narrow job. RevenueCat keeps track of whether your subscription is active: it sees which plan you bought, against an anonymous id it makes up, and never your name, your location, or a single station you played. PostHog receives anonymous usage statistics, in the EU, so we can see which features earn their place. The statistics are never tied to you, and search text and station names are never sent. Live Captions and translation run entirely on your device, and your favorites and history stay on your device (syncing privately across your own Apple devices through iCloud if you are signed in). The full details are in our Privacy Policy.
