Quick answers to the questions we hear most. Still stuck? We read every email.
Radio Dad is an iOS app for discovering and tuning into more than 50,000 live radio stations from every corner of the world. Spin a globe, drop into a city, and listen — with extras like on-device Live Captions, song recognition, synced lyrics, and a passport of places you've heard.
Yes. The heart of Radio Dad — globe and Zap discovery, unlimited listening, favorites, history, Passport, synced lyrics, and a free sleep timer — costs nothing, and there are no ads. An optional Premium subscription, which starts with a 7-day free trial, unlocks unlimited Live Captions & translation, unlimited song recognition, Live Rewind, CarPlay, and unlimited favorites.
Turn on captions while a station is playing and Radio Dad transcribes the speech, then optionally translates it into your language — in real time. It all runs on your device, so the audio never leaves your phone. The first time you enable it, the app downloads a language model (a one-time download). Live Captions is a Premium feature, with a free preview so you can try it first.
On the Globe, spin the planet and the station under the centre crosshair starts playing — no tapping required. Zap lets you flick from station to station like a radio dial. Prefer browsing? The Discover tab has a featured pick, top stations from your country, moods, and what's trending worldwide, and you can search the whole catalogue from one tap.
Tap to identify the track with Shazam. Radio Dad then lets you open it in Apple Music or Spotify and shows synced lyrics (from LRCLIB) where available. Free users get a preview; unlimited song recognition is part of Premium.
Yes, with Premium. Radio Dad appears on your car's CarPlay display with Favorites, Recents, Browse (trending), and Genres, so you can pick a station safely while you drive. The globe itself stays on your phone — CarPlay shows simple, glanceable lists by design.
Live radio changes constantly — stations go offline, move, or update their streams. Radio Dad's directory comes from the open radio-browser.info database, which the community keeps up to date. If a station is consistently broken or mislocated, email us the station name and we'll look into it.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple. To manage or cancel, open Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions on your device and choose Radio Dad. Cancel anytime; you'll keep Premium until the end of the current billing period. Refund requests are handled by Apple.
Very. You don't need an account, captions run on-device, and streams play directly from the broadcaster — we never record or relay them. There are no ads and no third-party analytics or trackers in the app; your favorites and history stay on your device. Read the full Privacy Policy.
Radio Dad runs on iPhone with iOS 17 or later, and supports CarPlay with Premium. The app interface is available in English, Turkish, German, French, Spanish, Italian, and Arabic (with full right-to-left layout).

For broadcasters: station takedowns
If you operate a station and would like it removed from Radio Dad's directory, or you believe a listing infringes your rights, email [email protected] with:
- The station name and stream URL as listed.
- Your name and relationship to the station (owner, rights holder, authorized agent).
- A brief statement of the request.
We aim to action valid requests promptly, typically within 48 hours. Because Radio Dad links directly to broadcasters' own streams and never re-streams or records them, removal simply takes the listing out of our directory. See our Terms for more.
